A lot of people that I have met through my travels think of potatoes when Idaho is mentioned. I don’t even think I could point out a potato plant. Idaho has the most wilderness area in the lower 48 and also is considered by many to be the whitewater capital for rafting and kayaking. The recreational opportunities are what I grew up with and love.
I’ve always wanted to raft some of the more remote rivers in idaho, but to do so you have to draw a permit through a lottery system or go with a commercial outfit. My friend Colt had family that was going on a trip on the main Salmon. This river is also referred to as the River of No return and flows through the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. So we booked a trip.
If you ever want to experience something special definitely go with Yellow Jacket River Guides. Great historical interpretation, outstanding food, whitewater expertise, and a desire to create the most memorable of experiences is what they were all about.
The trip was phenomenal! It was five days of beautiful scenery, fabulous people, adventure, and special moments. Check out some of our pictures or video clips from the trip.
